Job description

Magellium (Artal Group), with its 300-strong workforce, is an independent player, specialising in the value chain of pixel, image and video data (from satellite, airborne or drone sensors to their use in geographic information systems, cartography and geointelligence). Magellium promotes mastery of software, AI, image processing and geomatics technologies.

You'll be joining Magellium Paris, a company that defines, designs, implements and maintains GIS systems for companies, local authorities and government departments for a range of geographically-based applications.

Join our team as GIS Technical Manager

A strategic position for experts with a passion for development and GIS architectures!

As part of our strong growth and our desire to offer innovative solutions to our customers, both public and private, we are looking for a GIS Technical Manager to support the design and implementation of ambitious and complex projects. This position will offer you a wide range of technical and strategic responsibilities, enabling you to put your technical skills to good use on high value-added projects.

 

Your Missions :

As Multi-project GIS Technical Manager, you will be a real pillar of our technical development, guaranteeing quality and innovation at every stage of our projects. You will be responsible for :

  • Define innovative, tailor-made GIS architectures adapted to our customers' needs, with a strong technical component.
  • Design, manage and organize the development of integrated applications and services within high-performance GIS systems.
  • Supervise and guide development teams, ensuring the smooth progress of technical projects while guaranteeing their alignment with quality and deadline objectives.
  • Guarantee the technical quality of deliverables, drawing on your solid technical skills to ensure that best practices are implemented. You will be able to participate in pre-sales phases, sharing your expertise with sales teams to define technical solutions tailored to customers' needs.

Profile required

We're looking for a motivated team player ready to take on stimulating technical challenges.

Are you passionate about GIS technologies on complex projects, have a solid technical background in web development on complex projects and are used to guaranteeing the quality of deliverables? Then this is the job for you!

 

Your skills :

  • Training: 5 years' higher education in IT.
  • Experience: Over 5 years in defining and designing GIS architectures, ideally in Open Source and ESRI environments(GeoServer and/or ArcGIS Server).
  • Solid development skills in object-oriented languages such as JavaScript, C#, .NET, Java, Python.
  • Data integration skills with ETL tools such as Safe FME or Talend.
  • Mastering databases such as PostgreSQL and ORACLE.

     

Additional skills appreciated :

  • Expertise in DevOps, with tools such as Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms (ideally AWS or others).
  • Good command of agile methods and iterative project management.

  • Passion for innovation: You are curious about new technologies and developments in the field of geographic information systems (GIS).

Yes, we hire end-of-study internships. These internships can then develop into permanent contracts (50% of internships transformed into permanent contracts by 2023).

We can take on work-study students subject to availability of places and the company/school rhythm, as some projects are not always compatible with a work-study rhythm.

Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.

Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).

Our Toulouse and Courbevoie sites are accessible by public transport (metro and/or streetcar).
