Technical Manager - Space Ground Segment Development M/F

Job description

Magellium (Artal Group), with its 300-strong workforce, is an independent player specialising in the remote sensing data value chain (from satellite or drone sensors to their use in earth observation systems and services, cartography and geo-intelligence), promoting expertise in space technologies, software, signal processing and geomatics.

As part of its Earth Observation activities, Magellium is involved in major programs run by space or operational agencies. These Earth Observation projects involve the scientific processing of payloads on board satellites.

These processing chains, whether prototypes or operational, are developed with a view to integration into the ground segments of satellite missions. The specificity of these processes lies in the combined mastery of scientific and algorithmic remote sensing techniques, and the methodological, organisational and IT engineering of processing chains in an environment often constrained by robustness and performance.

Within one year, you will technically manage up to 3 projects in parallel (each involving between 2 and 5 people), particularly in the fields of environmental monitoring and climate change studies. You will guarantee the technical quality of our contracted supplies and act as the technical interface with our principals.

  • Operational management of a small team, including allocation of technical tasks,
  • Drafting of technical documentation corresponding to major development stages (milestones, reviews, technical points),
  • Management of the technical interface with the customer, subcontractors or partners.

Depending on your skills and aspirations, you may be called upon to design and architect treatment lines and/or take part in drawing up technical proposals in response to calls for tender.

Profile required

  • Ability to negotiate and interact technically with various contacts (customers, partners, subcontractors) in both French and English (minimum intermediate level).

Soft skills/ Compétences humaines:

  • Good adaptability,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit and clear communication,
  • Autonomie, sens des responsabilités et engagement.

Complementary assets:

  • Knowledge of space soil segments and development lifecycle methodologies,
  • Knowledge of engineering standards (ECSS or equivalent).
