About Magellium Artal Group
Magellium (Groupe Artal), avec ses 300 collaborateurs, est un acteur indépendant, spécialisé sur la chaine de valorisation de la donnée de télédétection (du capteur satellite ou drone jusqu’à son utilisation dans les systèmes et les services d’observation de la terre, la cartographie et la Géointelligence) qui promeut la maîtrise des technologies spatiales, du logiciel, du traitement de signal et de la géomatique.
Dans le cadre de ses activités en observation de la terre, Magellium intervient dans des projets et des études d’observation satellitaire mettant en œuvre des compétences scientifiques dans les domaines de la télédétection, de la physique de la mesure, des corrections atmosphériques ou des algorithmes de restitution des paramètres géophysiques. Les domaines concernés sont généralement l’imagerie optique basse et haute résolution, les radiomètres imageurs, les spectro-imageurs, ou les sondeurs atmosphériques.
Ces compétences sont mises à profit dans le cadre d’activités de support aux agences spatiales (CNES, ESA, EUMETSAT) mais aussi dans des projets applicatifs des données spatiales et de leur interprétation (comme les services Copernicus). Elles consistent notamment en des études de performance et de sensibilité, des activités d’étalonnage des capteurs ou de fusion de données issues de plusieurs missions satellitaires.
Les activités conduisent le plus souvent à effectuer des études algorithmiques, du prototypage de solutions de traitement de données, dans un contexte scientifique en lien avec les laboratoires de recherche, mais avec pour objectif d’aboutir à des solutions rapidement opérationnelles pour les segments sols des missions spatiales ou pour les services mis en place autour de l’exploitation des données spatiales. Ces activités requièrent donc à la fois une grande qualité scientifique et des méthodes rigoureuses exigées par le contexte spatial, proches des standards industriels.
The position
Rattaché(e) à notre unité « Observation de la Terre », vous travaillerez sur des activités d’hydrologie spatiale en lien avec les membres du pôle Physique de la mesure et Applications.
Votre mission consistera à utiliser et traiter des données satellitaires (radar et/ou optiques) afin d’améliorer les modèles hydrologiques de grande échelle grâce à des méthodes d’assimilation de données.
Vos principales responsabilités incluront :
- Le traitement et l’exploitation de données satellitaires (altimétrie, radiométrie, SAR, etc.) pour la modélisation hydrologique.
- L’amélioration des performances des modèles hydrologiques (ex : LISFLOOD, MGB) via des techniques d’assimilation de données.
- L’évaluation de l’impact des futures missions satellitaires sur la prévision des événements hydrologiques extrêmes (inondations, sécheresses).
- Le développement et l’optimisation d’algorithmes en Python, en exploitant des bibliothèques adaptées (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, etc.).
- La participation à des projets collaboratifs nationaux et européens, en interaction avec des partenaires académiques et industriels.
- La valorisation des résultats à travers des publications scientifiques, présentations en conférence et rapports techniques.
Profile required
Docteur ou Ingénieur(e) (en hydrologie, sciences de la Terre, télédétection, ou domaine connexe), vous justifiez d’une d’une expérience confirmée en modélisation hydrologique et assimilation de données ainsi qu’en traitement et analyse de données satellitaires.
Vous disposez d’une bonne maîtrise des langages de programmation scientifiques, en particulier Python.

Do you hire trainees?
Yes, we hire end-of-study internships. These internships can then develop into permanent contracts (50% of internships transformed into permanent contracts by 2023).
Do you take on work-study students?
We can take on work-study students subject to availability of places and the company/school rhythm, as some projects are not always compatible with a work-study rhythm.

The trial period is 4 months. This period may be renewed in certain situations, but not systematically.

Yes, when you arrive you'll be provided with a workstation complete with monitor, PC, keyboard and mouse. Office supplies will also be at your disposal.
Is remote work possible?
Our company agreement provides for the possibility of remote work up to 2 days a week. Remote working is possible as soon as the trial period has been validated and provided the project allows it (for example, this is not the case for defense projects for reasons of confidentiality).
